Social Learning Groups

Social Learning Groups are now available at Let’s Communicate!

These fun and exciting groups of up to four children will use cognitive behavioral strategies to teach social communication.

Group Members:

Groups are geared towards those students ages four to adult, who have average-to-above-average cognitive abilities and have been diagnosed with social cognitive deficits resulting from ADD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s Syndrome, NVLD, PDD-NOS, HFA, and other related disorders.

Group Facts:

  • Groups meet one hour per week
  • Parent networking and summary is an important part of each group process

  • Flexible vs. rigid thinking
  • Being a part of a group
  • Monitoring behavior (expected vs. unexpected)
  • Problem-solving (size and severity of a problem)
  • Reading nonverbal and verbal (inferential) language
  • Creating friend files
